10 Top Dermatologist Recommended Skincare Products
As a woman in my mid 40’s, I get asked all the time about the products I use on my skin to keep it looking young. I’ve had the opportunity to work with amazing dermatologists throughout my medical career, and the one thing I’ve always noticed about all of them is that they have great skin. I’ve always asked them what their secret is, and they tell me the same thing over and over again – that good skin care does not have to be expensive. As an example, NYU dermatologist Dr. Shari Marchbein tells her patients, “Although there a few key items (like retinoids and vitamin C serum) that may be worth splurging on, drugstores carry a huge selection of cosmetically elegant and high quality skincare. So you don’t need to spend a fortune to get glowing, healthy skin…unless you want to”. I wholeheartedly agree with her as I personally don’t like throwing money down the drain. Dermatologists such as Dr. Marchbein have made many great drugstore skincare product recommendations over the years, and I have incorporated so many of these into my daily skincare routine. And as a result my skin continues to look young and healthy! So keep reading to learn all about 10 amazing drugstore skincare products that will help you to have healthy, glowing skin…
Fundamentals of Good Skincare
When it comes to a good skincare regimen, there are four key elements to incorporate into your daily routine – a gentle cleanser, a good moisturizer, sunscreen, and a retinol. Above all else, these are the most important products to use (and they are really all I use!). My fair skin is extremely sensitive, and I have found tried and true products that don’t irritate my skin, control my eczema, and keep breakouts to a minimum. And by religiously using sunscreen as well as a retinol, my skin looks years younger than my stated age.
